ดงจูตัดสินใจก้าวข้ามเขตแดนไปยังจุดที่ไม่มีทางย้อนกลับได้อีก นำนิยายไปเสนอขายกับ อีมยองซ็อก (รับบทโดย อีกีอู) เจ้าของสำนักพิมพ์ซึ่งรู้จักกันมานาน ทว่าเขาก็ดื่มด่ำกับช่วงเวลาแห่งชัยชนะในฐานะนักเขียนคนดังได้เพียงไม่นาน เมื่อเขาตระหนักได้ว่าเหตุการณ์ต่างๆ ในนิยาย ล้วนสะท้อนเหตุการณ์ในชีวิตจริงที่เริ่มต้นขึ้นเมื่อเก้าปีก่อนอย่างน่าขนลุก  ชายหนุ่มที่มาความฝันอยากเป็นนักเขียน แต่ชีวิตของเขากลับพบเจอแต่เรื่องยาก
