Joy lives with Derek. Her abusive boyfriend tried to strangle her one night. But she brushes him off and locks herself in her room. She came out of the room and discovered that he had killed her dog.

Six months later, Joy has left Derek, and her longtime friend Carmen invites her to a retreat in the woods with her therapist, Dr. Dunnley, to help her deal with her trauma. which she accepts

another patient, Tara, to meet Dunnley and Chyna. While traveling through the forest Joy and Chyna discuss their trauma. That night, Joy experiences a nightmare involving Derek and a huge monster.

 

The next day, when she and Carmen were practicing in the forest.

Joy heard Derek call her name. She confronts Dunnley about whether they are lost or not. Joy later admits to Carmen that she is happy for Reg. to which Carmen expressed her doubts Because she couldn’t hear anything.

at the same time Tara also separated from Chyna while doing the same exercise. and hallucinated that her hands were tied and there was blood. After Joy found her She also noticed that she was hallucinating.

As the group walked through the cave

Joy is also having auditory hallucinations. In the forest, Joy and Carmen are separated for a moment as Joy relaxes. She saw Derek and the creature again.

And an invisible force began to strangle her. Carmen finds her and takes her back to camp. Joy became convinced that something was following them. That night,

she had another nightmare.

When I woke up the next day The group then realizes that Tara has disappeared. and their equipment was gone. while looking for Tara Dunnley also hallucinated and disappeared.

Joy and Carmen try and fail to convince Chyna that they should go get help. Chyna tries to find Dunnley and Tara. Instead, she fell off a rock while experiencing hallucinations from her time as a soldier in Afghanistan. Joy and Carmen never found her body.

The story of a therapy group

that is forced to confront the monsters of their past when an isolated weekend retreat tests their emotional resilience and ability to survive.

While looking for the others, Joy and Carmen come across a cave, and find Tara inside it. Carmen tries to save Dunnley, but she is killed by the creature. Joy,

Carmen and Tara hide from it in a cluster of logs in a nearby river, but it finds them. Tara sacrifices herself to allow Joy and Carmen to escape. They make it back to the camp to treat Carmen’s leg injury.
