Saw this on iQiyi and decided to try it out and was very surprised. I spent most of the movie wondering if they were going to fix things. How in this world? And surprisingly, it was like that! I’ve seen much longer dramas that dealt with very little resolution of the film’s plot. We discover the main motivations of the main characters and there are some surprises along the way. You may get less benefit if you are not familiar with the Chinese legends about Mengbo and reincarnation. The important point to know is According to the law Meng Po is a woman who concocts a soup of forgetfulness that must be drunk before reincarnation.

It’s the length of the movie. So the main point is not too complicated. But I think the story is very well done. Considering the limitations of telling a fairly involved story in 90 minutes, I actually think the CGI was very well done for what I consider to be a not-a-big-budget film. I remember the female lead from a low budget costume drama. (OK but not great) that I’ve seen before And ML seems to have only played a supporting role so far. They both did a solid job. Some of the supporting actors don’t sell their roles anywhere near as well, but it doesn’t really matter when they have so little screen time.
