In the late 1990s, 11-year-old Sophie travels to a holiday resort in Turkey with her father Calum, who has moved to London after amicably separating from his mother. Sophie records the holiday with a MiniDV camera, with the images spread throughout the film.

during the holidays Sophie befriends and observes several British tourists at the resort. who usually hangs out and plays arcade games with a boy named Michael. Calum exhibits symptoms of depression, anxiety, and inner turmoil.
